This is influenced by the election of the new American Pope, the jubilee year and the undiminished fashion for this country. A Sicilian pearl with rich traditions

1st place went to Militello in Val di Catania in Sicily. It has less than 7,000 inhabitants, but it is not boring at all. Cultural life revolves around religion, such as festivals on the occasion of saints' days with processions, performances of traditional music and the celebration of communal meals. There is a centuries-old rivalry between the main feasts - Madonna della Stella on September 8 and Saint Salvatore on August 18,

The village, located on the northern slopes of the Iblei Mountains, is an example of Sicilian Baroque craftsmanship and urban planning . It has been included on the UNESCO list as a late Baroque town of Val di Noto. After the earthquake in 1693, Militello was rebuilt in accordance with the Baroque aesthetic principles of the era, and the local landscape can be compared to an "open-air museum" of 18th-century design. The village is also surrounded by lush nature. In the area, we will find the Oxena River and its picturesque waterfalls. We can fly from Warsaw to Catania with, among others, Wizz Air - in June we found flights from PLN 219 one way.
