“I hope Trump helps end the geoncide in Gaza,” says Lula

President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva commented on Tuesday (13) on Donald Trump's position on the Gaza Strip conflict. Lula's remarks were made during a press conference held in Beijing, China.
Lula positively assessed Trump's position and reinforced his call for international action to end what he classified as “genocide” in the region .
“I think his decision on war was important. You had our friend Biden talking about war every day, talking about destroying Russia every day. Trump came along and said, ‘No, I need to make peace, I need to stop this war.’ I thought it was great.”

The Brazilian president also criticized the conflict between Israel and Hamas. “I hope he [Trump] can make a contribution to ending the genocide. I will repeat the word here: to end the genocide in the Gaza Strip. That is not a war. That is a genocide,” he said.
Lula also advocated for the United Nations to take more effective action to intervene in the humanitarian situation. “The only thing I want is this: for the UN to be able to make a decision. And Trump is contributing to that… Now, if he wants to turn it into a resort, it won’t work.”
The PT member's last statement refers to a video made by Artificial Intelligence published by Trump on the social network Truth Social, which caused controversy by showing what the Gaza Strip would look like after the construction of luxury developments.
The images show a “before and after” of the territory with the phrase “Gaza 2025”, then the region appears rebuilt after the US intervention with luxury buildings, people dancing and a giant golden statue of the American president.
