Millennium Investment Banking market analyst Ramiro Loureiro states that " Tuesday saw gains on European stock markets, on the day it was signaled that activity in the Eurozone gained momentum in September, driven by the surprising acceleration in services, contrasting with a loss of growth momentum in the US."
The PSI led the gains, driven by the surge in EDPR, which capitalized on the winds of a court victory by Orsted to restart construction on a wind farm in the US, which had been halted by the Trump administration. The significant gains of heavyweights like BCP and Galp also boosted the national index. Abroad, the Automotive sector was the most buoyant, he notes.
In the oil market, Texas-based WTI rose 2.12%, setting the price per barrel at $63.57, and Brent gained 1.85% to $67.80. Natural gas rose 0.10% to $3.10.
