Ukraine denounces Russian missile and drone attack

Russian President Vladimir Putin revealed on Thursday that a branch of the military will be created dedicated to drones, highlighting the significant role they have played in the conflict in Ukraine.
Drones have also been a focus of Ukraine, but the Russian leader stressed that Moscow is not lagging behind. “I don’t believe that we are lagging behind in anything,” he said, as quoted by Reuters . “More precisely, it seems to me that we are gathering good experience with the aim of creating exactly such forces.”

Over the course of more than three years of war, Crimea has been the target of several Ukrainian attacks. A recent operation by the Security Services of Ukraine (SBU) targeted the bridge connecting the peninsula to Russia — the third such attack since 2022.

The Ukrainian Air Force reported that Russian forces launched four ballistic missiles and more than 50 drones into Ukrainian territory overnight.

According to Ukrainian authorities, nine regions were attacked, including Kharkiv, Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk.
