AF Coimbra: Victor Simões' inauguration opens a new cycle

For the second time in a year and a half, the governing bodies of AF Coimbra were sworn in. The reason is simple: the Court considered that the first election was not valid and forced it to be repeated, with the list elected at the end of 2023 now having as its opponent the list that was refused to vote at the time.
The court ruling had one particularity: the list of candidates on both lists had to be the same as in 2023. And so it was. The difference is that, at the time of the inauguration, Horácio Antunes, the (re)elected president, did not attend, since, even before the ceremony, the elected directors voted (almost) unanimously for Victor Simões to replace him.
In his speech, the new president made a vehement appeal for cooperation from everyone – referees, coaches, managers, athletes, fans – and promised to do everything to unite the football, futsal and beach soccer families in the district.
