Athletico went public last Friday to deny any connection with the website Fatal Model, an escort advertising platform, which made a proposal for naming rights for the Arena da Baixada . According to the club, there is no contractual, commercial or institutional relationship with the company.

The proposal generated a wide repercussion on social media, but was quickly countered by the club's board of directors, who treated the announcement as a deliberate attempt to unduly associate its brand. Athletico classified the episode as an “unauthorized promotional campaign” and stated that it will take legal action.
Last week, the club suspended the naming rights partnership with Ligga, due to lack of payment. In May, the columnist for UmDois Esportes Augusto Mafuz reported that the company would have a debt of around R$50 million with Furacão.
The amount refers to late payments of the agreement, in addition to contractual fines, the report found. Now, the tendency is for the case to be resolved judicially.
“Club Athletico Paranaense clarifies that it does not maintain any contractual, commercial or institutional relationship with the company that, on this date, deliberately disclosed an alleged sponsorship proposal for the naming of our stadium.
We would like to emphasize that there was no authorization for the use of Athletico's name, image or stadium in promotional campaigns, marketing actions or any other initiative linked to the aforementioned company.
The club vehemently repudiates the attempt to unduly associate its brand and informs that it will adopt the appropriate legal measures to protect its identity, its values and its intangible assets.”
