Vitória, Sport , Ferroviário and Fortaleza had already secured their place in the Group A dispute. And this Saturday (7) it was the turn of Bahia, CSA , Ceará and Confiança to advance in Group B.
Bahia had a scare, but came from behind to defeat Náutico 3-1 in the last round of the group stage. The red and whites scored at Arena Fonte Nova with Bruno Mezenga, but Esquadrão had two goals from Tiago and one from Ademir. At Arena das Dunas, in Natal, CSA ended América-RN's unbeaten run by winning 1-0, with a goal from top scorer Tiago Marques. Confiança drew 0-0 with Juazeirense on Bahian soil. Finally, Ceará defeated Sampaio Corrêa 2-1 in a comeback, with goals from Pedro Raul, from a penalty, and Galeano. Alan Stence scored for the team from Maranhão at Castelão, in São Luís.
Thus, the quarter-final clashes are defined. The highlights are the classics Bahia x Fortaleza and Sport x Ceará. The quartet is part of the Série A of the Brazilian Championship.
Although the CBF has not yet announced the dates of the duels, there is a great possibility that these matches will take place in June, during the Brasileirão break due to the FIFA Club World Cup.
