Coritiba prepares to sign Mirassol duo; Maringá rules out negotiations between Coxa and striker

Coritiba has arranged the signing of two forwards from Mirassol , who are playing in the Série A of the Brasileirão. Iury Castilho and Clayson should be the new reinforcements for Alviverde for the remainder of the Série B, along with midfielder Jacy, announced last week.

The two athletes have permanently joined the Coxa-Branca squad, according to UmDois Esportes . The information was initially released by journalist Guilherme Moreira , from Lance!.

Iury had been in negotiations with the team since last week, when he was removed from the main squad and was surprised , posting a note of complaint on social media. The player participated in 22 of the 23 games of the São Paulo team in the season and was a starter in 18 of them, with five goals and one assist.

The 29-year-old striker arrived at Mirassol in August 2024, after playing for Vitória, and was important in the final stretch of Série B and for promotion with Mozart, with five goals in 18 games in the Segundona.

Clayson was at Cuiabá in 2024 and was acquired by the São Paulo team in 2025. He played 18 games, seven as a starter and has two assists.

The 30-year-old striker began his career at Ituano and União São João and became Brazilian champion with Corinthians in 2017, with 14 goals and 20 assists in 140 games for the team between 2017 and 2019. The athlete also had a spell in Japanese and Saudi Arabian football in his career, between 2022 and 2023, when he played for V-Varen Nagasaki and Al-Faisaly FC.

The transfer window for the Club World Cup period opens from June 2nd to the 10th and even so, Coritiba already has three reinforcements. In addition to the two forwards, the club announced midfielder Jacy, who was at Operário, last week. The athlete is already training with Mozart's group.

All athletes signed with Coritiba so far will only be able to play from the match against Botafogo-SP, on June 7th, for the 12th round of Série B.

Coxa was also interested in Negueba, a forward who plays on the wings for Maringá. However, UmDois found out that the offer made by Alviverde was below Dogão's expectations and that is why the team from the interior did not accept it. Maringá considers the negotiation for the player with Coxa as closed.
