CRB defeats Novorizontino in a landslide and ends a streak of failures

This Saturday, July 26th, at Rei Pelé Stadium in Maceió, CRB defeated Novorizontino 4-0. The match was the 19th round of Série B. The Alagoas team scored in the first half with a goal from Douglas Baggio. They then built up the rout with Gegê, Baggio again, and Mikael. This was the Alagoas team's first victory in seven rounds of the competition.

With this result, CRB moves to 25 points, jumping to ninth place in the standings. Novorizontino, meanwhile, missed the chance to climb the table, remaining on 34 points and remaining in third place.

The first half was evenly balanced. Many fouls were committed, resulting in two yellow cards: one for Novorizontino's Fábio Matheus and another for CRB's Danielzinho. In the 37th minute, CRB scored through Douglas Baggio.

The second half began with Novorizontino trying to recover, replacing Airton Moisés with Pablo Dyego. Even so, the Galo from Alagoas secured their lead early on with two consecutive goals: one from Gegê in the 7th minute, and another again from Douglas Baggio in the 9th.

Novorizontino tried to improve by replacing Rafael Donato with Bruno José and Matheus Frizzo with Caio Dantas. Taking a more aggressive approach, they nearly scored their first goal in the 20th minute, but Léo Tocantins missed the opportunity. Meanwhile, Mikael scored CRB's fourth goal shortly after.
