Yuri Alberto renews with Corinthians until 2030 and gets emotional when explaining the decision

Yuri Alberto returned in style. After more than two months out due to a fractured lumbar vertebra, Timão's number 9 returned to the field in Saturday's 1-1 draw against Botafogo in the Brasileirão. But it was off the field that he drew the most attention.
After the match, the striker revealed that he had received offers to leave Corinthians —but he declined. And not only that: he renewed his contract until July 2030. An emotional Yuri explained the reason for his decision:
"I had an offer to leave. But I sat down with my father, and after everything we've been through, it was the least I could have done... For this fan base, for my teammates, especially at this difficult time," he told Amazon.
"We know that, with 110% from everyone here, we can change this story. We're going to do our best to bring joy to the fans, who deserve it so much. And me, Yuri, especially."
Yuri came on at halftime, with Corinthians trailing 1-0, and watched Memphis Depay level the score in the second half. With the result, Corinthians reached 21 points and sits in 8th place in the Brazilian Championship.
Now, the focus turns completely to the classic against Palmeiras , Wednesday (30), at 9:30 pm, at Neo Química Arena, for the first leg of the round of 16 of the Copa do Brasil.
