Francisco Conceição misses Hungary-Portugal

Winger Francisco Conceição will miss Portugal's 2026 World Cup qualifying match against Hungary after being released from training due to muscle problems, the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) announced today.
According to the organization, which published a note on its official website, Conceição presented “muscular discomfort” and was declared unfit by the FPF Health and Performance Directorate for Tuesday's duel in Budapest.
The Juventus player will therefore not have played any minutes in Portugal's first two matches in Group F of qualifying for the next World Cup, after being an unused substitute in the 5-0 victory in Armenia.
At the start of the training camp, at Cidade de Futebol, in Oeiras, the winger had already missed the first training session also due to muscular issues.
Now without Conceição, coach Roberto Martínez's team has a training session scheduled for the Puskas Arena, the venue that will host the game, at 19:00 (18:00 in Lisbon), with the first 15 minutes open to the media.
Beforehand, at 18:00 (17:00), also at the Puskas Arena, Martínez and a player yet to be named will preview the match against the Magyars in a press conference.
Hungary-Portugal is scheduled for 20:45 (19:45) and will be refereed by Belgian Erik Lambrechts.
