MotoGP: Quartararo takes third consecutive pole

Yamaha is one of the most traditional teams in MotoGP, but since 2022 it has been facing a drop in performance that has even compromised Fabio Quartararo's championship. However, 2025 has been a season of positive surprises since the pre-season tests, when the Japanese team promised an evolution, which has been confirmed in the last stages of the World Championship.
With pole positions in Jerez, Le Mans and now Silverstone, Yamaha shows that, at least in flying laps, it is on an equal footing (or even at an advantage) compared to its rivals.
In Q1, Luca Marini was the fastest, securing advancement to Q2 with a time of 1min58s209, beating Franco Morbidelli by just 0s090. The big loss was for KTM, which failed to qualify any of its riders for Q2, either from the factory team or the satellites.
The front row was completed by Álex Márquez and Francesco Bagnaia. Marc Márquez, who starts from fourth position, was outside the front row for the first time this season. Fermín Aldeguer also secured a solid position, and apart from Quartararo, the big highlight was the presence of three Yamahas qualifying directly for Q2, with Jack Miller finishing sixth. Fabio Di Giannantonio finished seventh, followed by Luca Marini, Johann Zarco, who crashed at the end of qualifying, Franco Morbidelli, Marco Bezzecchi and Álex Rins respectively.
The Sprint Race takes place this Saturday (05/24), at 12pm (Brasília time).
