Rodrigo Mora distinguished by CNID as Breakthrough Player of the Year

Footballer Rodrigo Mora, from FC Porto, was today awarded the Newcomer of the Year award, given by CNID – Sports Journalists Association, in a ceremony held in the Main Hall of Matosinhos City Council.
The trophy was presented by Rosa Mota, Olympic marathon champion, and recognised the season of emergence of the young 18-year-old footballer, who has stood out in the main team of the 'dragons' under the command of Martín Anselmi and who was called up for the first time to the main Portugal team, which will compete in the 'final four' of the Nations League.
"I'm very happy, I have to thank CNID, the journalists who voted, my family, colleagues and FC Porto staff, for believing in me", said the Porto player, visibly emotional, after receiving the award.
Rodrigo Mora beat other young national football players in the final vote, such as Geovany Quenda (Sporting), Roger Fernandes (Sporting de Braga), Martim Fernandes (FC Porto) and Pablo Felipe (Gil Vicente).
The CNID distinction aims to recognize the performance of young players who stood out throughout the season, in an initiative that also aims to value the role of training in the Portuguese football scene.
