The motive of John Poole and Kylie Dakes is being investigated.

John Poole and Kylie Dakes, 18-year-old lovers from Maryland in the United States, are accused of murdering business owner Edward Koza, the New York Post writes.

It is specified that the teenagers beat the man, tied him up and set him on fire alive. They were arrested only a week after the murder.

"Poole was with his girlfriend Dakes on the evening of the murder and they were seen smiling as they bought petrol, which police believe was used to start the fire," the report said.

In addition, investigators have surveillance video proving Poole and Dakes' involvement in Koza's murder.

Law enforcement officials have not yet identified the motive for the crime, but it is known that Poole had previously worked for the businessman.

Earlier it became known that three sisters who went missing after visiting their homeless father in the United States were found dead.
