Monitoring of Novgorod harvest for pesticide content began with strawberries

The Rosselkhoznadzor Administration has begun seasonal monitoring of agricultural products grown in the Novgorod Region, starting with strawberries. Recently, Rosselkhoznadzor inspectors conducted an on-site inspection of the Sergovskaya Yagoda peasant (farming) enterprise operating in the Novgorod Region.

Strawberry samples were collected from an area of 9 hectares. The samples will be tested by the North-West branch of the All-Russian Research Institute of Animal Health for safety - the content of nitrates and identified pesticides should not exceed permissible levels.

The department stated that this is the first event of the season to control the residual content of pesticides in agricultural products grown in open ground. Last year, such types of products as potatoes, squash, carrots, beets, greens and strawberries were examined in the Novgorod Region.

Let us remind you that this farm has been operating since 2020. It is believed that strawberries grow in an ecologically clean area.
