Moscow Releases Analogue of ATM Card Reader

The capital manufacturer has released an analogue of a foreign bank card reader for ATMs, terminals and self-service systems. The details were revealed by the Minister of the Moscow Government, Head of the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy Anatoly Garbuzov.
"More than 370 companies in the capital produce high-tech products - from terminals and ATMs to system boards and microcircuits. One of the enterprises has launched production of a new bank card reader for ATMs, terminals and self-service systems," said Anatoly Garbuzov, noting that the development supports all types of contactless cards and payment via smartphones with NFC. The reader is already being used by another local enterprise to produce ATMs.
SAGA Technologies has started producing the first models of ATMs with a reader from the Moscow manufacturer Terminal Technologies at its plant in the Technopolis Moscow special economic zone. This development reduces sanctions risks and eliminates problems with technical support for foreign analogues. The reader supports card emulation and allows you to accept payments from a smartphone via NFC.
The company's CEO Igor Sukhostavsky reported that the new product ensures fast and reliable card processing. The partnership with SAGA Technologies will allow Russian banks to obtain domestic ATMs, minimizing dependence on foreign manufacturers and promoting import substitution.
