Russian Embassy Expresses Bewilderment Over Starmer's Statement

The Russian Embassy in London expressed bewilderment over the “hasty statement” by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer about Moscow’s position in the negotiations with Ukraine in Turkey , RIA Novosti reports.

Earlier, Starmer said that Russia's position in the negotiations on the Ukrainian settlement in Istanbul was unacceptable and that London was preparing a response.

"Who finds it unacceptable? We are not negotiating with London," the embassy emphasized.

The diplomatic mission also stated that Ukraine had previously repeatedly sabotaged peace initiatives proposed by the Russian side. They noted that in this regard, statements about the lack of a substantive response from Moscow to calls for a ceasefire do not stand up to criticism.
