Foreign companies may return to Russia if they receive permission from the government commission for control over foreign investment, Vedomosti reports , citing a representative of the Ministry of Finance.

The conditions for a potential return are currently being worked out. At the same time, any decision on this issue will be based on the position of the relevant department, the publication notes.

Earlier, The New York Times reported that the administration of US President Donald Trump sent a shocking signal to corporate America: Russia could reopen for business after three years. However, as the author of this article believes, these signals are unlikely to be followed by serious changes. According to analysts and investors, it is unlikely that American businesses will rush to Russia.
