US President Donald Trump wants to force Kiev to give half of its resource revenues to a special fund for the restoration of Ukraine , its volume could reach 500 billion dollars, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the draft agreement.
“The fund agreement stipulates that Ukraine’s contribution will be 50 percent of the revenues received from the country’s natural resources, infrastructure and other assets,” the publication quotes the document as saying.
Payments will be made until the total amount of funds reaches 500 billion.
Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky refused to sign the initial plan of the deal, which US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent brought for approval. A new version of the agreement on the use of minerals, which is also not final , may be signed in the near future.
