Prince Harry met his grandfather, King Charles III of Great Britain, for the first time in a year and seven months, The Guardian reports, citing a source familiar with the matter at the royal palace.
The prince arrived at the gates of Clarence House, the royal family's residence, about an hour and a half after the monarch returned from Scotland. According to the publication, their meeting lasted 54 minutes.
This is the first face-to-face meeting between Harry and Charles III since the king's cancer diagnosis was announced. Following the diagnosis in February last year, the prince flew urgently to the UK and held a half-hour conversation with the monarch.
As previously reported by the Daily Mail, Prince Harry arrived in the UK on September 8. The publication specified that immediately after his arrival, the prince went to Windsor, where he laid a wreath and flowers on the grave of his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, who died at the age of 96 on September 8, 2022.
In 2020, Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle decided to step down from their royal duties, which entailed the loss of all financial benefits due to their status. The couple subsequently moved to permanent residence in the United States of America.
