Three students from the Protvino-based Gyurza Special Training Center returned from the Wushu Sanda Championship in Kaluga with a full set of medals. The athletes are now preparing for the Moscow Region Championship, which will be held in Balashikha at the end of November.

Achievements at the Kaluga Championship:

Arina Sokolova (9 years old) - gold in the 27 kg category

Anisiya Kubysheva (9 years old) - silver in the 27 kg category

Irina Solovieva (12 years old) - bronze in the 55 kg category

Irina Solovieva not only won bronze, but also received a special cup "For the Will to Win" for her fight with an experienced opponent who had won in China.

"The girls showed excellent results, despite the changes in the rules that required greater speed and technique," noted coach Vladimir Babushok.

The young athletes have been training wushu for about two years. They say martial arts help them develop self-confidence and discipline. The entire team is now intensively preparing for new competitions.
