Tula boxer Dzhambulat Bizhamov became a four-time champion of Russia


Tula Region Governor Dmitry Milyaev reported on the striking victory of an athlete from the region at the main national boxing tournament. The head of the region paid attention to the important sports news in his Telegram channel.
According to the governor, the 34th Russian Championship among men, dedicated to the memory of Marshal of the Soviet Union Georgy Zhukov, the Year of the Defender of the Fatherland and the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, has ended in Yekaterinburg. 324 athletes from 61 regions of the country competed for the championship titles.
In the weight category up to 80 kg, Tula boxer Dzhambulat Bizhamov reached the final and won a confident victory over Ilyas Magomedov, representing Dagestan. This result allowed him to become the champion of Russia for the fourth time.
On the way to the final, Bizhamov successively defeated Kantemir Tazhev (Omsk region), Danil Shenkhnet (Yekaterinburg) and Mikhail Usov (Moscow and Kursk regions).
Timur Gamzatov also represented the Tula Region at the championship. He started successfully in the 86 kg category, defeating Ilya Bogatyrev from the Omsk Region, but due to a knee injury he was unable to continue participating in the tournament.
Dmitry Milyaev noted that the successes of Tula athletes are a source of pride for the region and confirm the high level of sports training in the region.
