Atilla Szalai is back in the Super League

Attila Szalai, who transferred from Fenerbahçe to Hoffenheim for a transfer fee of 12.3 million euros in 2023, could not find what he was looking for in the German team.

The Hungarian football player, who was transferred with great expectations, had a disagreement with coach Pellegrino Matarazzo.

He didn't get a chance in the squad

Szalai, who was substituted in the first half of the season's opening match, only got one more starting opportunity under Matarazzo.

Szalai, who was loaned to SC Freiburg mid-season, failed to perform as expected and was heavily criticized in his longest-serving match.

After attempts to bring him back to Türkiye in the summer of 2024 proved unsuccessful, Hoffenheim loaned Szalai to Standard Liege in January 2024. Szalai, who only managed to make four appearances in Belgium, has only managed seven Bundesliga appearances in the last two years.

KASIMPAŞA TRANSFER CONFIRMED

While transfer rumours have been on the agenda again in recent days, according to Florian Plettenberg from the German press, Hoffenheim has reached an agreement to loan Szalai to Türkiye.

The parties shook hands with Kasımpaşa, making Szalai's return official.
