PKK lays down arms! Here are the first images

The long-awaited PKK terrorist organization's arms laying ceremony took place today in the Iraqi Kurdish Regional Government. Both DEM Party officials and numerous journalists attended the ceremony in the Sulaymaniyah countryside. PKK/KCK leaders Bese Hozat and Mustafa Karasu also attended the PKK's symbolic arms laying ceremony.

A statement was made after the first group laid down their arms. The statement read, "As a step of goodwill and determination for the practical success of the Peace and Democratic Society process, we are destroying our weapons with our free will."

The first images from the ceremony where the weapons were laid down have also emerged.

TWO NAMES SAID TO ATTEND DID NOT ATTEND

Mustafa Karasu and Bese Hozat, who were previously said to attend the ceremony, did not attend, but Behzat Hakkari attended the ceremony.
