In “All About Earthquakes,” Christopher Rüping sends German Eurodance star Haddaway on stage to discuss an urgent question: What is love?
Artistic director Milo Rau proclaimed a "Republic of Love" at this year's Vienna Festival . Nicole sang "Ein bisschen Frieden" (A Little Peace) at the festival opening, and at the end of Elfriede Jelinek's play "Burgtheater," actress Safira Robens delivered a fiery speech: "I believe we will defeat fascism," she said, "with our gentleness, our humor—and our love!" Similar tones are now struck in "All About Earthquakes," the second major premiere of these festival weeks: "Where once the law ruled, now love reigns!" it says.
