D-Wave: Deal with Tesla rival – these 3 dates are decisive now!
A hugely exciting deal with Ford and a month packed with important events: Brave investors have increased their money tenfold with the hot stock D-Wave. These are the opportunities offered by quantum computers.
D-Wave multiplied its revenue in Q1, which has given the current HSR recommendation enormous momentum. Even more important at this early stage are two questions: Will quantum advantage and deployment by large corporations be achieved by 2030, similar to the extent to which Nvidia computers enable artificial intelligence? And, moreover, will investors and banks support this hot stock?
D-Wave CEO Alan Baratz is working on it. He already gave a Teams interview to AKTIONÄR in spring 2024 and is now trying to convince US investors. This weekend, D-Wave will participate in the Needham analyst conference. Then, on May 13, it'll travel to Boston to attend JP Morgan, which will also host a digital Quantum Conference on May 20.
Ford with Quantum!
The big issue here is whether quantum computers can be used effectively in industry. D-Wave recently reported that the Ford Otososan joint venture is using a hybrid quantum solution to optimize production of the Ford Transit. Wow! The challenge is 1,500 different van variants, each of which has its paint job and equipment planned individually during the factory process. Impressive: Ford Otosan has reduced the time required to plan production from 30 minutes to less than five minutes.

Risk is (often) rewarded
D-Wave is still counting on classical computers being able to keep the wild, fragile, and error-prone super-quantum operations in check. Baratz said: "There are still many difficult problems (for companies like Google) to be solved before there is full error correction here." The stock market believes in D-Wave: Since the initial recommendation in the HSR Report 04/2024 at €0.73, the gain for readers is now 1,237 percent. After the tenfold increase, it was recommended to take a significant portion of the profits and hold a remaining position.
Partec relies on D-Wave
DER AKTIONÄR Hot Stock Report has been focusing on quantum computing technology since the beginning of 2024 and has recommended several quantum stocks, such as D-Wave, IBM, IonQ, and Rigetti, for purchase. Importantly, D-Wave relies on a less comprehensive and complex approach, but already delivers more stable computing results. Interestingly, German supercomputer specialist Partec relies on D-Wave quantum systems for its supercomputer in Jüllich. This apparently led to a jump in revenue in Q1. Partec's board told HSR months ago that D-Wave quantum computers would demonstrate "respectable performance." Game changer – also for AI
For Baratz, it's clear: quantum computers could be a game-changer for artificial intelligence, as they would allow them to operate much faster, more precisely, and with much less power consumption. The HSR regularly speaks with board members and professors.
A world-class quantum researcher is Prof. Guido Burkard, who fundamentally believes in the technology but advises patience: "I don't see quantum computers scaling in the broader sense for more than ten years," he told me in an interview. Microsoft founder Bill Gates said that important successes in the quantum sector could become visible in the next three to five years. Quantum computing pioneer IBM is also researching this (in the 2030 portfolio). IBM quantum researcher Heike Riel told us that they are working on "breakthroughs and quantum advantage" by improving the performance of hardware and software.
