MEXICO CITY.— This Tuesday, the The Swiss-based Institute for Management Development (IMD) has released the results of its latest assessment, which includes its 2025 World Competitiveness Ranking of 69 economies worldwide.

According to this ranking, Mexico stands out for its inequality in education and healthcare (third place), its social inequality (fourth place), its inequality of opportunity (ninth place), and its political polarization (tenth place).

According to the IMD's latest World Competitiveness Rankings (WCR), Switzerland, Singapore, and Hong Kong emerged as the world's most competitive economies, while Canada, Germany, and Luxembourg have improved the most within the top 20.

In the IMD ranking, Mexico appears 55th in competitiveness out of 69 nations.

In economic performance, Mexico ranks 39th; in government efficiency, 62nd; in business efficiency, 54th; and in infrastructure, 61st.

According to the IMD, the economies most concerned about inequality in education and healthcare are Chile, with 62.5%; Peru, with 60.2%; Mexico, with 57.3%; Venezuela, with 55.9%; Namibia, with 54.5%; the Philippines, with 49.5%; Turkey, with 48%; Brazil, with 44.7%; Mongolia, with 43.5%; and Colombia, with 42.7%.
