Iga Świątek on life off the court. The Polish actress revealed how much free time she has

She recently turned 24, and for several good seasons she has been at the forefront of world tennis. Iga Świątek introduced herself to the world in 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, by winning the Grand Slam tournament at Roland Garros in Paris. A lot has happened since then, and the Pole – not so often – talks about things that are outside of sports competition, including WTA ranking points.
Iga Świątek talked about life outside the tennis courtAt the recent Roland Garros 2025, Świątek finished in the semifinals. This is the second such Grand Slam result this season for the Polish player, at the same level she finished at the Australian Open.
What gives the former WTA ranking leader the greatest joy?
– Playing tennis is the main part of my life, so when I win, it definitely brings me great joy. But off the court, it's simply coming home, when I can meet my friends, live a life that has nothing to do with competition for a while. Just doing what I want to do. If I had a little more of that time, it would definitely be something related to music. But tennis is absorbing, looking at the calendar, we play from January to November, so it would be nice to have a little more break, but that's the job – admitted the best Polish tennis player, a five-time winner of Grand Slam tournaments.
In her conversation with Dorota Wellman, the Polish tennis player touched upon many topics related to the non-sports sphere with a smile. Among other things, there was a question about free time, how much a professional tennis player can really afford. As one could hear, she doesn't have much of it, quite the opposite, which shows the scale of the burdens we are talking about.
– Generally, during the season I think I have four week breaks. And of course, sometimes I can come back for two or three days, but then there are usually so many things to do at home that I can't even use this time in a peaceful way. I'm more in action mode then, to simply get my life off the court, here in Warsaw. In November, the season theoretically ends, I have time for an eight-day vacation, then I probably won't spend them at home, because in November in Europe it's not a good idea. And then I can go back (home, note by eMPe) for about four and a half weeks – admitted the Polish player.Iga Świątek and all her championship titles
