Robert Kubica won the legendary Le Mans race! The Pole is on the lips of the whole world

There is no doubt that the 24-hour Le Mans (France) is one of the most prestigious races of its kind in the world, with a very rich tradition. The oldest long-distance race of its kind, dating back to 1923. Never before in history has a Pole been the winner. Until almost exactly mid-June 2025.
How did Robert Kubica view his start in the colours of AF Corse, Ferrari's private team?
- The fight for the podium will be very even and very difficult. We saw Le Mans, where the situation changed dramatically, very quickly. Two years ago, I think four cars were eliminated, they lost a minute and a half or a lap after 100 meters of the race. And that makes certain tasks easier. On the other hand, last year was a really difficult edition, we had a very solid race, but unfortunately we didn't finish due to a failure. So from my perspective, I will always be satisfied if I do my job at a level that satisfies me - said the Polish driver in an interview for the portal powrotroberta.pl.
The winning crew consisted of three drivers. Apart from the Pole Robert Kubica, they were the Chinese Yifey Ye and the Briton Phil Hanson. Interestingly, a driver cannot drive for less than 6 hours during the 24-hour race at the Circuit de la Sarthe, but cannot exceed 14 hours of driving.
There is no doubt, however, that the Pole was the leader of this team, which was demonstrated by the decisions to entrust the most important fragments of the competition to him.
The drivers' competition began on Saturday (i.e. June 14) at 4:00 p.m. The Krakowian and his team were considered favorites in the strongest Hypercar category. Last year, AF Corse had a lot of bad luck at Le Mans, as they had a breakdown and had to withdraw from the competition a few hours before the results were announced.
Fortunately, this year's competition was completely different. However, there was no shortage of emotions, mainly due to... the factory competition of Kubica and company. There was a conflict of interests in Ferrari, they favored the team that should have been better than the private crew, and yet, all in all, it turned out to be worse.
Five hours before the end of the race, Alessandro Pier Guidi, the driver of the then leader, the Ferrari #51 team, made a big mistake. A fall off the track caused Kubica to jump into the lead – although it was already clear that the Pole was achieving the best times – and his lead was only a matter of time.
In addition, the Porsche Penske Motorsport #6 crew jumped in behind AF Corse #83. The Pole did not give up the lead until the end, showing extraordinary resilience and skills that have always placed him among the top drivers in the world.
But what is equally important, in the year 2025 there will also be something extremely important – happiness.
In addition to the great success of Kubica and his colleagues, it is worth emphasizing that the Polish team Inter Europol Competition #43 triumphed in the LMP2 category. This is also a huge success from the perspective of a Polish motorsport fan.
