Major renovation in the spa. Tourists love these paths in the heart of the mountains

Świeradów-Zdrój is a spa town in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship . It is famous not only for its rich deposits of mud, sanatoriums and treatment facilities for spa guests, but also for being located in the heart of the Jizera Mountains. In addition, there are single tracks, one-way bike paths, unique on a European scale. These are the ones that will be renovated.

Metamorphosis of attractions in Świeradów-Zdrój

The fact that after 15 years the bike paths in the spa will undergo renovation is already certain. We will find completely new trails there, although in the same place. The current ones run through the heart of the mountains and have attracted many tourists for years. This is to remain unchanged. Currently, it is enough to appear in the northern part of the Jizera Mountains on the slopes of the highest peak Smrek or the neighboring ridges and use one of the three starting points.

Why are we talking about unique trails? They were designed by Welsh trail designer Dafydd Davis, considered an expert in his field. The single tracks were opened in 2010. Up until now, there were 14 trails with a total length of 80 km. They were divided into four difficulty levels: very easy, easy, medium-difficult, difficult. After the metamorphosis, it is supposed to be even better than before.

This is how the paths in the spa will change

Work on the changes is to take into account the needs of tourists coming to the place. Some of them were supposed to feel, among other things, that there is a lack of extreme trails. At the moment, it is known that the trails are to be primarily renovated and improved. Ideas for introducing novelties have also been taken into account, but the details are not yet known.

The works are to start in June 2025. The local government has already secured funds for this purpose, and the whole thing is to cost around PLN 150,000. Everything will be a treat, especially for mountain and competitive cycling enthusiasts. We will have to wait a while for the effects. In the near future, using these trails will become impossible or difficult.
