The areas around city schools and kindergartens have begun to be improved in anticipation of the new school year.

There is very little time left until September 1. During these days, city services, in addition to their main work, are actively busy putting the adjacent territories of educational institutions in order. After the traditional construction headquarters in the regional government, the head of Veliky Novgorod, Alexander Rozbaum, went on a Saturday tour together with his colleagues.
The mayor inspected the grounds of several schools and kindergartens and emphasized that the previously announced order of the acting governor must be fulfilled.
Earlier, specialists from the Veliky Novgorod administration, together with traffic police officers, conducted a tour and examined the condition of access roads to schools and kindergartens, and also inspected pedestrian crossings near educational institutions.
"We have outlined a plan of activities. We are currently working with the contractor: we have applied markings, replaced signs at certain addresses. We are trimming bushes and tree branches that cover the signs. And, as always, we are doing the traditional mowing and cleaning," said Deputy Head of Administration Sergei ANDREYEV.
In turn, a representative of the contractor, Solid LLC, added that the company's employees are also cleaning the trough areas from random garbage.
“Are there enough people, strength and resources to carry out all the necessary work in all schools and preschool institutions these days?” the mayor asked.
According to the contractor, yes, and they intend to complete the work by September 1.
Next week, city administration representatives will conduct a commission inspection and additionally monitor the progress of the work.
