Former Traktor defender joins Sochi

The Sochi hockey club continues to form its roster for the new season of the Fonbet KHL Championship. According to the press service of the Leopards, the team made an exchange with Chelyabinsk Traktor. As a result, the Sochi team was replenished with defender Ilya Nikolaev, and forward Andrei Nikonov went in the opposite direction.

The defenseman is 23 years old. He has played for Traktor since 2023, and before that he played three seasons for Magnitogorsk Metallurg. In total, he played 140 games and made 19 assists in the regular championships with a +5 efficiency rating. In the playoffs, he added another 29 games (2 assists, +2). He won silver medals in the Gagarin Cup twice.
