The importance of Polish companies in Germany is growing
Germany remains Poland's largest trading partner. According to the latest data from the Central Statistical Office, in the first half of this year, we shipped goods worth PLN 205.2 billion to the Elbe and Rhine. Imports, on the other hand, amounted to PLN 148.7 billion. Therefore, year-on-year trade between the two countries remained largely unchanged.
The perception of our western neighbors' mutual relations is changing much more dramatically. As the Eastern European Commission for the German Economy (Ost-Ausschuss der Deutschen Wirtschaft) notes, trade between Germany and Poland increased by 5.4% (€4.6 billion) in the first half of the year, reaching a record level of over €90 billion. As a result, we have become the country's fifth most important trading partner. France is just ahead of us. The US, China, and the Netherlands occupy the top three, respectively.
