A US court has rejected a request for parole for Lyle Menendez, who was sentenced to life in prison for killing his parents more than 30 years ago, Fox News reports.
Earlier on Friday, the Washington Post reported that his brother, Erik Menendez, had been denied parole. Brothers Lyle and Erik Menendez were sentenced to life in prison for the 1989 murder of their parents.
During the trial, they alleged that they had been subjected to years of sexual and physical abuse by their father, while their mother remained indifferent to what was happening.
Notably, evidence of abuse was excluded from the 1996 trial. In October 2024, Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascón requested a retrial of the brothers' sentences, bringing new attention to the high-profile case.
