Pushilin: Providing the DPR with water is possible only after the liberation of Slavyansk

The head of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) Denis Pushilin stated that the region's full water supply will only be possible after the liberation of Slavyansk and the restoration of the Seversky Donets-Donbass canal. He stated this while speaking at the Russia-Islamic World: KazanForum forum.

Pushilin noted that the canal is a complex hydraulic structure that requires the restoration of six destroyed pumping stations. He emphasized that the built Don-Donbass water pipeline helped avoid a humanitarian catastrophe, but cannot fully cover the region's water needs. Pushilin added that various options for stabilizing the water supply are being considered, including the construction of a second line of the water pipeline.

— All additional options that can stabilize the situation are being worked out. This is our main focus, so that now there is an opportunity, even with water supply according to schedules, even with certain restrictions, but to create stability in terms of water supply, — RIA Novosti quotes Pushilin as saying.

On February 4, the Volunteer Corps, part of the Russian group of troops "South", reported that near the settlement of Chasov Yar, after the Russian Armed Forces army crossed the Seversky Donets-Donbass canal, a mass evacuation of wounded Ukrainian soldiers was recorded.
