Another great performance by the Archery Guild

Members of a young group, founded a few months ago, called the Archery Guild of the Przemyskie Foothills, are becoming more and more bold in various competitions. In just 6 weeks, they won 8 medals. The last two medals were won by the three-person representation of the Guild on May 1st of this year in an archery tournament on the Royal Ramparts in the Archaeological Open-Air Museum "Karpacka Troja".
The competition organized by the group "Łucznicy Rozembark" enjoys great popularity and is considered one of the most demanding. As every year, it was a mixed tournament (3D figures and 2D mats), and as many as 150 competitors from different parts of Poland took part in the fight.
– We couldn't imagine a better start to the May Day weekend than taking part in one of the most iconic and, as it turned out, the most difficult archery tournaments organized in this part of Poland. On the premises of the picturesque open-air museum, the organizers have prepared thirty interesting, surprising, and sometimes perfidiously cunning positions.
– said Marcin Orpik from the Guild.
The high degree of difficulty in this type of competition results from the fact that each of the targets is set not only at a different, unmarked distance (sometimes 70 or more meters), but also at a different height. Additional excitement is provided by mats depicting mythological beasts with cunningly marked penalty zones, i.e. negative points.
– A small mistake is enough for one stray arrow to knock a competitor off the podium
– added M. Orpik.
Despite the really high level and extremely strong competition, three competitors from the Guild won two medals. Gold Marcin Orpik in the "hunter male" category and silver - Maja Zaleszczyk in the "hunter junior" category. Ewa Orpik was 22 points short of the podium and ultimately took 5th place in the "hunter female" category.
